Koru 2 Assembly Performance

We listened to the  book the The True Story of the Three Little Pigs  a children's book by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith. Using this we had to decide the side we would take, the wolf or the pigs. We then wrote a persuasive piece of writing arguing for our chosen viewpoint. This play was adapted from the many different viewpoints we came up with as a class. Notice some of the persuasive language features used to convey the messages in our court of law!

Mathematics - Learning about Coordinates

We had to draw a grid with a ruler and then label the horizontal and vertical axis. Next we drew our own deserted island drawing in the key physical features while using coordinates to identify exactly where these features were. Then our partners had to use these coordinates to find the physical features. Finally, we had to record these coordinates in our descriptive stories about being ship wrecked on the island. For example, at A:3 I found fresh water
